Statistical analyses were performed by Chi-square and logistic regression using OpenEpi and SNPStats software. The IL17F C allele frequency was higher in patients with SpA, AS and PsA compared to controls. The IL17F T/C genotype frequency was higher in SpA patients in an overdominant inheritance model and when men and women were separately analyzed. IL17A_IL17F AC haplotype was significantly associated to the risk for SpA patients. As for VDR, the ApaI a/a was a potential risk factor for SpA in men. Use has been restricted to less then 1 percent of highly selected persons typically failing concurrent conventional therapies. As therapies of CLL have evolved, so have indications for transplantation and transplant techniques. The data that we review indicate that transplants can result in long-term leukemia-free survival in some persons but are associated with substantial transplant-related morbidity and mortality. We discuss the mechanisms underlying the anti-leukemia effects of transplants including drugs, ionizing radiations, immune-mediated mechanisms and/or a combination. We discuss prognostic and predicative covariates for transplant outcomes. Importantly, we consider whether there is presently a role of transplants in CLL and who, if anyone, is an appropriate candidate in the context of new drugs.Drought represents a major abiotic stress factor negatively affecting growth, yield and tuber quality of potatoes. In order to investigate the influence of thermal environment on attendance and adaptive behaviors in outdoor spaces, in this study we carried out field campaigns in a university campus in a cold-climate city. The thermal environment was monitored, while surveys of thermal perceptions and observations of attendance and adaptive behaviors were conducted. Through the data analyses, it was found that the thermal environment had a great impact on the attendance of optional activities, but necessary activities were not influenced. The greatest influence on attendance came from air temperature. The influences of wind and humidity on attendance were found to be coupled with that of air temperature. Adaptive behaviors, such as seeking shade, using parasols, changing clothes, and changing the lengths of stay, were also greatly influenced by air temperature.Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a high priority across countries as it increases morbidity, mortality and costs. Concerns with AMR have resulted in multiple initiatives internationally, nationally and regionally to enhance appropriate antibiotic utilization across sectors to reduce AMR, with the overuse of antibiotics exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Effectively tackling AMR is crucial for all countries. Principally a narrative review of ongoing activities across sectors was undertaken to improve antimicrobial use and address issues with vaccines including COVID-19. Point prevalence surveys have been successful in hospitals to identify areas for quality improvement programs, principally centering on antimicrobial stewardship programs.
