Downloading and Adding the Shortcut
Open your iPhone’s web browser and go to the Shortcuts Gallery or a link that provides the Water Eject shortcut.
Tap the “Get Shortcut” button, followed by “Add Shortcut” to add it to your Shortcuts app453.
Activating the Shortcut
Open the Shortcuts app and navigate to the “My Shortcuts” section.
Tap on the “Water Eject” shortcut to initiate the process135.
Running the Shortcut
When prompted, tap “Begin Water Ejection” or “Start” to begin the process.
Select the intensity level of the sound; for best results, choose the maximum intensity125.
How the Shortcut Works
The Water Eject shortcut produces a low-frequency sound (165Hz) for 10 seconds, which causes the iPhone’s speakers to vibrate and expel water from the speaker grills124.
Post-Process
After the process is complete, the shortcut will turn down the device’s volume to 50% and send a notification indicating that the liquid has been successfully ejected125.
Additional Tips
Ensure the volume is turned up to maximize the vibration and water ejection.
Avoid using headphones, as the sound needs to come from the phone’s speakers to be effective.
If the shortcut does not work, consider letting the iPhone dry out in a well-ventilated area or seeking professional help if the device has been fully submerged or exposed to moisture for an extended period145.
Important Notes
This shortcut is considered untrusted, so you will need to enable “Allow Untrusted Shortcuts” in your iPhone settings to use it.
While the Water Eject shortcut can be helpful, it is not a foolproof solution for water damage, and professional assistance may be necessary in severe cases125.
