The results showed concentration and exposure time of fluoride both had a significant effect on MDA and 8-OHdG. Fluoride concentration significantly impacted AGEs level, but exposure time did not. AOPP was not statistically different among the groups. AGEs decreased with the increase of fluoride in the rats with 3 months of fluoride treatment. The correlation analysis showed the degree of dental fluorosis was significantly negatively correlated with 8-OHdG at 1 month and 3 months, and negatively correlated with AGEs at 3 months. In the rats with 100 mg/L of fluoride treatment, MDA was significant positively correlated with 8-OHdG, and negatively correlated with AGEs. 8-OHdG was significantly negatively correlated with AGEs in the control group and 100 mg/L fluoride group. Taken together, fluoride had different effects on oxidative stress markers of lipid, gene, and protein. Excessive fluoride could increase MDA content, and decrease 8-OHdG and AGEs. These findings suggest that oxidative stress involved in molecular pathogenesis of fluorosis is complicated, and needs to furtherly study in the future.The objective of the present study was to assess hair, serum, whole blood, and excised tissue essential element content in children with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Eighty-eight children with chronic rhinosinusitis and 66 healthy controls were enrolled in the present study. Evaluation of endoscopic Lund-Kennedy and computed tomography Lund-Mackay scores, as well as tissue sampling, was performed only in children with chronic rhinosinusitis. Assessment of Sino-Nasal Outcome Test-20 (SNOT-20) scores was performed in both cases and controls. Hair, whole blood, blood serum, and excised mucosal tissue (only in patients) analysis was performed using inductively coupled argon plasma mass-spectrometry. The obtained data demonstrate that whole blood Ca, Mg, Se, and Zn, as well as hair Ca, Cu, Mg, and Zn levels in the examined patients were significantly lower as compared with the control values. Only serum Zn concentration in children with CRS exceeded the respective control values, whereas serum Cu levels only tended to decrease in CRS. In turn, hair Fe content in children with CRS exceeded that in healthy controls. Regression analysis demonstrate that hair Ca levels, as well as whole blood Ca, Se, and Zn concentrations, were considered as negative predictors, whereas increased hair iron level was significantly directly associated with CRS. Lots of studies indicated that many microRNAs (miRNAs) are associated with the prognosis of patients with laryngeal cancer (LC). The objective of our study is to identify potential core miRNAs associated with the pathogenesis and prognosis of LC.
Using the Cancer Genome Atlast database, we identified 70 differentially expressed miRNAs between LC tumor specimens and non-tumor specimens. Then Cox regression analyses and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression signature were performed to detect miRNA prognostic markers. A nomogram integrating miRNA prognostic markers was constructed to predict overall survival (OS) for LC patients. The potential target genes of the key miRNA were predicted by miRTarBase and miRDB databases. Subsequently, their potential functions were revealed by gene ontology annotation and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes pathway enrichment analysis. Related biological pathways of the key target gene involved in LC were detected through gene set enrichment anaove treatment outcomes for LC patients. However, the behaviors of LC are relatively heterogeneous, and the TCGA database cannot provide detailed information about the subsites and treatment modalities of LC. The aim of the present work is to show that clean technologies are important in dealing with environmental problems in Algeria and that the regulation plays a key role in the technological eco-development process. To do so, we adopt an empirical approach that is based on data collection from industrial firms in the West of Algeria which operate in different sectors of activities. The present study used a modeling approach that relied on a structural equation model and multiple regression analysis. The developed model is based on the results of the qualitative survey that preceded the econometric study. The results show that the variance of industrial pollution in Algeria is explained by regulation intensity, technological policy, and market forces.
